Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Larry Dale Daigle, 70. Mr. Daigle, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, passed away Saturday morning, December 19 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Reverend Mitch Guidry, his cousin, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the committal services in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church. Masks are required.
Mr. Daigle is survived by his wife, Pat Daigle of Church Point; a son, Shane Daigle and wife Stacey of Church Point; a daughter, Nakia Daigle Wimberley and husband Eric of Church Point; his brothers: George Daigle of Picayune, MS, Jessie Daigle of Eunice, LA and Frank Daigle and Albert Daigle-both of Belle Chasse, LA; his sisters: Cherry Goodfred of Jacksonville, NC and Theresa Kelly and husband Ralph of Houston, TX and five grandchildren: Hannah and Emma Daigle and Ashtyn, Isabella and Colton Wimberley. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa Richard Daigle; his brothers, Raymond, John Yakkle, Tommy and Gerard Daigle and his sisters, Enola Jagneaux and Fannie Doucet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22 and continue from 9:00 AM Wednesday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Pallbearers will be Shane, Jason and Kevin Daigle; Eric Wimberley, Danny and Kenneth Doucet, Ron Leger and John Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be George, Frank and Albert Daigle and Colton Wimberley. Readers will be Ashtyn and Isabella Wimberley and Hanna and Emma Daigle. A superintendent with Grey Wolf Drilling in the oil industry for many years, Mr. Daigle enjoyed raising cattle and baling hay in retirement. Truly loved, he will be missed by his extended family and friends. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
