Church Point, LA:    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Kristen Nicole Gaines, 36, who passed away at 3:27 AM Saturday, January 6, at Highland Community Hospital in Picayune, MS. Rev. Craig Wells, Pastor of The Rock Church in Slidell, LA, will conduct the funeral services.

Kristen, a resident of Slidell, LA, was the daughter of Thomas and Tammy Bourgeois Gaines. She is survived by her husband, Luis Martinez-Avila of Slidell, LA; her daughters, Jordan, Jaylin and Jessylin-all of Slidell, LA; her parents, Thomas and Tammy Bourgeois Gaines of Slidell; her birth father, Jeff West and wife Shannon of Lafayette, LA; four sisters: Heather Beach(Lawson) of Ft. Worth, TX, Monique Wells (Jeremy) of Slidell, Megan Dupuy (Wesley) of Slidell and Danielle Gaines of Ville Platte, LA; her birth siblings, Charlene West Folk and Michael, Gavin, Dacey and Riley West; sixteen nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; her paternal grandparents, Gary and Janice Maroney; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Bourgeois and her birth paternal grandparents, James and Margie Buford. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Jeanne Gaines and her maternal grandfather, Carl Bourgeois.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 9, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in order to help with funeral costs.
