Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Mrs. Kenneth (Kateri) Smith, 51, the former Kateri Guidry. Mrs. Smith, a native of and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 5:30 A.M. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital, Church Point. Father Gregory Chauvin will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Smith of Church Point; a daughter, Brandi Jo Guidry and fiance Phillip Richard of Church Point; a stepdaughter and granddaughter, Angela Michele Smith and Rolanda Smith of Lafayette, La.; two brothers, Marcus Guidry and wife Lisa of Alaska and Shane Guidry and wife Holly of Seattle, Wash.; a niece and nephew, Michelle and Joshua Guidry as well as other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Patty Hebert Guidry; a great-grandson, Jaiden Sattler and a brother-in-law, Bob "Outlaw" Carriere #1.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed beginning 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 3 and continue uninterrupted until the time of the services on Tuesday.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
