Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Thomas Kenneth Colligan, 75. Mr. Colligan, a life-long resident of Church Point, passed away Wednesday evening, November 19 at his residence. Reverend "Pére" David Rozas, parochial vicar of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the committal services in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Evelyn Aguillard of Church Point; his sons, Jude Dornell Colligan of Church Point and Kent Colligan of Lafayette, LA; a daughter, Amy Colligan Fontenot and husband Jason of Opelousas, LA; a sister, Glenda "Topie" Acosta of Slidell, LA; his grandchildren: Thomas, Cynthia, Sydney, Caroline and Cole Colligan; John Blake and Brennen Sonnier and Alyssa Gaudet; his great-grandchildren: Silas Colligan, Greta and Oliver Sonnier and Bentley and Liam Gaudet; six stepchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren and twenty-four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, "T.J." Colligan and Ruth Higginbotham Colligan. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, November 20 and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Friday by "Pére" Rozas. Mr. Colligan, a devoted family man and horseman, loved to cook, travel with his wife, dance to French music and supported his family in their activities. Employed by the LA Department of Agriculture for some forty years, he was a member of the Church Point Quarterback Club and usher at the church for some thirty years and actively supported Mardi Gras in Church Point.
