Church Point, LA A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Kathryn Louise Venable, 64, who passed away at 3:43 PM Saturday, December 17 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass.
Entombment will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.
Kathy, a longtime resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Alcin Veronie and the former Helen Guillet Veronie. Born on January 2, 1952, she graduated from Basile High School and worked as a bookkeeper in the oilfield for many years. Kathy enjoyed tennis, the beach, traveling, dancing, baking for her friends and family, loved life and never missed out on a trip or a family adventure with grandchildren. A wonderful mother, wife, grandmother and friend; she always welcomed her friends and family into her home.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ken Venable of Church Point, LA; three sons, Ronnie Venable and wife Piper, Josh Venable and wife Jessica and Jeff Venable and wife Laurie-all of Church Point; five grandsons, Wick, Wiley, Dylan, Walker and Samuel Venable, all of Church Point; three sisters, Linda Broussard of Lewisburg, LA, Margaret Fontenot of Mowata, LA, and Stephanie Usie of Henderson, LA and two brothers, Phillip Veronie of Duson, LA and Steven Veronie of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Mason and Kylee Venable.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, December 19 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 Monday evening in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Josh, Jeff and Wick Venable; Phillip and Steven Veronie. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wiley, Walker, Dylan, and Samuel Venable.
