Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Katherine M. "Kathy" Venable, 67, the former Katherine Murphy. Mrs. Venable, a resident of Church Point and Lafayette, LA, died Thursday morning, October 17 at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Randy Venable of Lafayette; her daughter, Cassie Robin and husband Scotty of Henderson, LA; her sons, Paul Courtney "House" Venable and Paul Briley Venable and wife Jennifer-all of Lafayette; a grandson, Jared Joseph Paul Robin and her sisters, Evelyn Higginbotham and husband Ollie and Jeanette McBride and husband Howard-all of Church Point. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Jared Venable; her parents, Joseph W. and Mary Jeanise Murphy; her in-laws, Leopold and Rosalie Venable and her brothers, Sherman, Allen and Michael Murphy.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, October 20 and continue from 8:00 AM Monday until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Sunday by Amanda Credeur. Pallbearers will be Briley Venable, Scotty Robin, Brian Venable, Todd Higginbotham, Aaron Leblanc and Paul Benoit; Jared Joseph Paul Robin will be an honorary pallbearer. Gift bearers will be Jennifer Venable and Sara Leblanc; Lector will be Monica McBride.

A 1974 graduate of Church Point High School; Mrs. Venable worked at "Bear's Drive-in" during her high school years. Retiring after over 20 years as a caregiver at Pinocchio's Day Care Center; Kathy spent her days in doting and caring for her only grandson, Jared. Truly loved, she will be missed.
