Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Karl Gene Lyons, 52. Mr. Lyons, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 4:45 P.M. Sunday, March 31 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Father Henry Broussard will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Kathleen (Ponthier) Lyons of Eunice, La.; his mother, Blanche (Bernard) Lyons of Church Point; two sons, Karl Gene Lyons, Jr. and wife D'Adrea of Opelousas, La. and Dustin Ray Lyons of Church Point; a daughter, Tessa Lynn Lyons of Eunice; two brothers, Charlie Lyons and wife Elaine and Keith Lyons and wife Stacey-all of Church Point; a sister, Jennifer Carrier and husband Brian of Church Point and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carol Lyons and a brother, Malcolm John Lyons.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 2 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
