Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Judy Ann Smith, 73, the former Judy Ann Nelams. Mrs. Smith, a native of Church Point and long-time resident of St. Landry Parish, died Thursday morning, July 24 at her residence. Pastor Berl Adams of the First Baptist Church will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the First Baptist Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Smith Morgan and a son, Clint Paul Smith-both of Church Point; two grandchildren, Cory-Michael Morgan and Allen James Soileau; a sister, Bernadine Nelams Carrell of Church Point; a brother, Lee Robert Nelams and wife Dorothy "Dot" Nelams of Church Point and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Smith; her parents, Jessie and Mary Eldine Carriere Nelams; two sons, Michael Shane and John Jessie Smith; one brother, Henry Lee "Buck" Nelams and two nephews, David Newton Nelams and Weston Robert Nelams.

Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the time of Services.

A cafeteria worker for the St. Landry Parish School System for a number of years; Mrs. Smith was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her.
