Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. Joyce Prejean, 80, the former Joyce Matte. Mrs. Prejean, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 1:05 P.M. Sunday, August 26 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Monsignor Russell Harrington will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include a son, James Todd Prejean of Church Point; two daughters, Arleen Fruge and husband Mitchell and Donna Arnaud and husband Troy of Church Point; two sisters, Leota Thibodeaux and husband Havard and Genevieve Sonnier of Church Point; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Elia (LeBleu) Matte; her husband, Milton Prejean; a granddaughter, Stephanie Daigle; a great-granddaughter, Natiyah Daigle; a brother, Allen Matte and two sisters, Eldine Richard and Rosa Belle Matte.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Monday, August 27 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
