Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Joyce Pepitone, 65, the former Norma Joyce Elkins. Mrs. Pepitone, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Sunday afternoon, June 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include her mother, Rita Bellard Elkins of Church Point; her husband, Charles Pepitone and son, Tony Pepitone of Church Point; two brothers, Robert Elkins and wife Vicky of Richard, La. and Hilman Pat Elkins of Church Point and five sisters: Gloria Broussard of Bristol, La., Germaine Aguillard and husband Mike of Lafayette, Dolores Elkins of Church Point, Claire Olivier and husband John of Church Point and Dana Dupuis and husband Wayne of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilson Elkins and two brothers-in-law, Huey Winn and Bobby Broussard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 9 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday by Seminarian Cade LeBlanc.
A person with a love for family and gardening, Mrs. Pepitone worked as a private duty caregiver for a number of years.
