Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. for Joseph C. "J.C." Savoy, 86. Mr. Savoy, a native and life-long resident of Lawtell, died at 3:20 P.M. Monday, March 19 at Lafayette Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Bridget Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include his wife, Esther (Ledoux) Savoy of Lawtell; five sons: Clarence Savoy and wife Glenda, Emery Savoy and wife Linda, Mervin Savoy and friend Theresa, Gervais Savoy and wife Cathy and Jimmy Savoy and wife Jackie-all of Lawtell; a daughter, Judy Neucere and husband Ellis of Church Point; a sister, Eula Savoy Higginbotham of Church Point; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philogene and Clarice (Miller) Savoy and a granddaughter, Emily Savoy.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 20 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Father Leger.
