Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 29, 2023 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Joseph Lloyd Richard, 86. Mr. Richard, a native and resident of rural St. Landry Parish, died Friday evening, May 26 at his residence. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the chapel in Lewisburg, LA.

Survivors include his sons: David Richard and wife Shontelle, Dean Richard and wife Christine, Neil Richard and wife Verna and Chad Richard and wife Stacy-all of Church Point; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Virgie Arnold and Verna Mae Leger-both of Church Point; a brother, Andrew Richard and wife Mary of Eunice, LA and his beloved dog, "Max". He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose McBride Richard and his parents, Isadore and Clothile Leger Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, May 28 and continue from 8:00 AM Monday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 6:00 PM by Deacon Winn. Pallbearers will be Trey, Chad, David, Neil and Josh Richard and Eric Pitre. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean, Layne, Bryce and Andrew Richard. A hard-working, family-oriented agricultural worker who "worked until the day he died"; Mr. Richard was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
