Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. For Joseph Gayle Olivier,70. Mr. Olivier, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 5:15 P.M. Tuesday, May 29 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services.

Survivors include his wife, Shirleen (Trahan) Olivier of Church Point; two sons, Paul Olivier and wife Tammy of Church Point and James Olivier and wife Cara of Lafayette, La.; two granddaughters, Alexis and Brittney Olivier and two step-grandchildren, Andrew and Laney Pickering..

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ray and Eva (Johnson) Olivier; a son, Joseph Ivan Olivier and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Guidry.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 12:30 P.M. until10:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 31 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday by Monsignor DeBlanc.

Well-known in the Church Point area, Mr. Olivier was the founder of the "Cajan CB Club".
