Church Point, LA:    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mr. Joseph Gerald Landry, 77, who passed away at 9:40 PM Monday, January 11 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Patrick Broussard, Pastor of the church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and entombment will follow in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
Gerald, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the son of Eddie Landry and the former Jewell Lavergne. He was a truck driver for H B Rentals, retiring after 35 years, then drove for Tan Mar Rentals for another 6 years. 'Bud-Man' loved spending time fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Briscoe Landry of Church Point; six daughters: Florence Guidry of Carencro, LA, Sandy Brasseaux and husband Byron of Lewisburg, LA, Tina Key and husband Billy of Athens, AL, Carla Salinas and husband Thomas of Carencro, Tammy Guidry of Carencro and Jill Citizen of Branch, LA; four sons: Peppy Carmello, who is deceased, Jerome Landry and wife Wendy of Church Point, Jason Landry of Carencro and Guy Landry and wife Hannah of Church Point; one step-son, Forrest Leger of Church Point; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one sister, Eldine Ash of Gaston, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Macklin Landry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Thursday, January 14, from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral services.
