Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Joseph Filton Jagneaux, 86. Mr. Jagneaux, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday evening, November 26 at his residence. Rev. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the church, will conduct the services with interment following at a later date in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Richard and husband Larry of Richard, LA and Kim LeJeune and husband Ken of Church Point; his grandchildren: Blake, Lance and Heidi Richard; Lindsey Hollier, Taylor LeJeune and Madison Landry and his great-grandchildren: Raileigh, Kinsie, Hunter, Brantlee, Lyla and Levi Judd Richard; Ashton, Alec and Avery Hollier; Marley Landry; Ellie and Leigh Daigle; Carson, Walker and Sadie LeJeune and Myles Landry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Avery and Louisa LeJeune Jagneaux; his brothers, Ivan and Ivy Jagneaux and an infant son.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29 and continue from 8:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Deacon Byrne Winn. A deputy with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office for over 20 years; Mr. Jagneaux was a member of Masonic lodges in Rayne and Crowley, LA, a past Master of Crowley # 243 F and AM and member of the Scottish Rite and Habibi Temple. The family wishes to thank Hope Hospice, caregiver Sheila Hebert and long-time friend, Ms. Bert Schexnider, for the care extended to him.
