Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 13, 2015 at St. John Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Joseph G. Thibodeaux, 88, who passed away at 5:10 am Tuesday, August 11 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point, LA. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, will conduct the funeral services and burial will take place in St. John Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Joseph, a resident of rural St. Landry Parish near Lewisburg, was the son of the late Fernest Thibodeaux and the former Ella Belle Guidry.
He is survived by two daughters, Ella T. Thibodaux and husband Glendy of Church Point and Christine T. Richard and husband Randy of Opelousas, LA; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Thibodeaux of Monterey, LA; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Norma Miller of Lewisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma B. Thibodeaux; one son, Vincent Thibodeaux; a granddaughter, Bailey Thibodeaux; two great-grandsons, Cody and Brody Thibodaux; one sister, Emma Arnold and two brothers, John "Linus" Thibodeaux and Fernest Thibodeaux, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home by Deacon Bryne Winn.
Pallbearers will be Glendy Thibodaux, Randy Richard, Glen Joseph and Shaun Thibodaux, Carl Montecino, III and Stacy Lejeune. Honorary pallbearers will be James Thibodaux and Jacob Lejeune.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Thibodeaux will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
