Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Joseph Nelson Elkins, Jr., 38. Mr. Elkins, a life-long resident of Church Point, died at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center; Lafayette, La. Father Randy Moreau will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery in Richard, La.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Elkins of Church Point; his companion, Michelle Olivier of Church Point; a son, Morgan Olivier of Church Point; three daughters: Sarah Hannon of Eunice, La. and Lindsey Olivier and Taylor Olivier of Church Point; three sisters: Monica Oyarzun and husband Patricio, Arcine Winn and husband Gabriel and Malana Vasseur and husband Brent-all of Church Point; a stepbrother, Raymond Thibodeaux of Mire, La. and two grandchildren, Brianna Hannon and Blakeston Olivier.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Nelson Elkins, Sr.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Monday, February14 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday by Father Moreau.
