Grand Coteau, LA:     A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for Mr. Joseph A. Dohmann Jr., 61, who passed away at11:15 AM Tuesday, October 17 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Clyde Leblanc will be the Celebrant of the Mass with burial immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point, LA.

Joseph, a resident of Opelousas, LA, was the son of the late Alton and Irene Dohmann. He loved auto racing, working on race cars and sharing his knowledge with those that he helped. Always having a great time and cracking jokes, Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth Ortego Dohmann of Opelousas; his two daughters, Samantha Dohmann of Opelousas and Sydney Dohmann and fiance' Kyle Brinegar of Central, LA; one granddaughter, Lindsey Brinegar of Central; one sister, DeeDee Lemaire and husband Joe Pat of Opelousas; two brothers, Johnny Dohmann and wife Tammy of Mire, LA and Glynn Dohmann and wife Veleeda of Houston, TX and his sister-in-law, Leona Dohmann of Opelousas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Keith Joseph Dohmann, Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau on Saturday, October 21, from 12:00 PM until the time of the memorial mass at 1:30 PM.
