Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. for Joseph Irby Comeaux, 78. Mr. Comeaux, a native of Lawtell and long-time resident of Ville Platte, La., died at 7:45 A.M. June 25 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Bridget Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include five sons: Dale Comeaux and wife Gayle, Michael Comeaux, Carl Comeaux and wife Ruby, David Comeaux and Russel Comeaux-all of Ville Platte; a sister, Ella Mae Kolder and husband Richard of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Lavergne Comeaux; his parents, Bercier and Bernice Richard Comeaux and a daughter, Janell Comeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 26 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday by Father Leger.
