Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Mire, La. for Joseph Daward Bergeron, 73. Mr. Bergeron, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 5:45 P.M. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Lafayette General Hospital; Lafayette, La. Monsignor Russell Harrington will conduct the services with interment following in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Mire.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Cormier Bergeron of Church Point; a daughter, Delores Ann Hebert and husband Joseph Hebert III of Church Point; two sisters, Iris Daigle and husband Leroy and Lacey Daigle and husband Raymond-all of Church Point; four grandchildren: Alexis Leigh Hebert of Baker, La., Joseph Hebert IV and Chad Hebert of Walker, La., and Damien Elkins of Church Point. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Allison Elkins of Church Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcee and Angela Eve Morvant Bergeron and a son, Norris Bergeron.

Visitation will be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10 P.M. on Saturday, November 21 and continue from 8:00 Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Saturday by Deacon Jim Cormier.
