Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mrs. John D. (Rose) Thibodeaux, 89, the former Rose Carriere. Mrs. Thibodeaux, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 7:50 A.M. Tuesday, July 20 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital, Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Thibodeaux of Church Point and Davis Thibodeaux and wife Helen of Ville Platte, La.; a daughter, Jeanette T. McMillen and husband Johnnie of Ville Platte; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Thibodeaux; a daughter, Bonnie T. Lavergne; a daughter-in-law, Delores M. Thibodeaux and her parents, Don Louis and Ida Henry Carriere.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 21 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
