Church Point, LA:         A Word Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2022 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA for John Emery Richard, 33. Mr. Richard, a resident of St. Landry Parish, LA, passed away Monday evening, August 8. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the service and interment will be in the St. Bridget Cemetery adjacent to the church.

He is survived by his parents, John D. "Johnny" Richard and Lee Stelly Richard; his sisters, Savannah Gil and Ashley "Lil Bit" Richard; his brothers, Joshua and Christopher Richard; his godchildren, Cameron and Paislee Gil; a godparent, Kathy Thibodeaux and his dog named "Darcey". He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Leslie Richard and Eldine Matte Richard and Ida Richard ("second wife"); his maternal grandparents, Emery Stelly and Claudia Marks Stelly; his uncles, Malcolm Stelly and Ronald and Harold Richard; his aunt, Patsy Lejeune and a Godparent, Pat Menard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 8:30 AM until the time of services. Pallbearers will be Chris and Josh Richard; Lee Ray, Charlie and Pershing Stelly and Brandon Thibodeaux. Mr. Richard was a carpenter and mechanic who loved music. Truly loved, he will be missed by all who knew him. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
