John "J.B." Doucet's Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for John Burton "J.B." Doucet, 58, who passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Boynton Beach, FL.
Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in the Monsignor Bienvenu Mausoleum - Hwy 35.
"J.B.", a lifelong resident of Church Point, LA was the son of the late Joseph Harry Doucet, Sr. and the former Mary Lee Venable.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Daigle Doucet of Church Point; three sons, Brad Doucet and wife Raegan of Youngsville, LA, Nicholas "Nick" Doucet and wife Leah Faith of Branch, LA and Coby Doucet of Church Point; five grandchildren, Hannah, Hailee', Harlee and Hunter Doucet of Branch and Jackson Doucet of Youngsville; his mother Mary Lee (Venable) Doucet of Church Point; his mother-in-law, Vivian Daigle of Church Point; six brothers, Albert Doucet and wife Elaine of Church Point, Emery Doucet and wife Naomi of Alamogordo, NM, Charles Ray Doucet of Island Lake, IL, Michael Doucet and wife Brenda of Church Point, Harry Doucet, Jr. and wife Gayle of Bossier City, LA and Malcolm Doucet and wife Aimia of Church Point and two sisters, Catherine "Cathy" Doucet of Church Point, LA and Belinda Manuel and husband Todd of Church Point.
He was preceded in death by father, Harry Doucet, Sr. and his father-in-law, Benedict "Ben" Daigle.
J.B. Worked as a carpenter before taking a position with UL in the Maintenance Department until visual impairments forced him into early retirement. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Albert Doucet, Emery Doucet, Charles Ray Doucet, Harry Doucet, Jr., Mac Doucet, Michael Doucet and Todd Manuel. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Schexnider, Eddie Matte, Junior Miller and Fernand Fall.
