Church Point, La. A Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be determined by family for John Darryl Carte, 68, a native of Church Point, La. and long-time resident of Eunice, La. Currently a resident of Iota, La., he died Friday morning, July 10 at his residence surrounded by family and friends after a five-year journey with cancer.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Fangue Carte of Iota; a son, Mitchell Carte and wife Jodie of New Iberia, La.; his daughters, Michelle Carte of Simi Valley, Ca. and Anne Marie Mayville and husband Stephen of Reno, Nev.; his grandchildren: Bradley and William Mayville, Emily Carte, Ryan and Brittney Estis, Faith, Tommy and Anna Dorch and a brother, Gary Carte of Breaux Bridge, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eloise Guidry Carte.
