A private remembrance will be held at a time and place to be determined by family for John Dillard Blanchard, 58. Mr. Blanchard, a native of Alexandria, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 9:20 A.M. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La.
Mr. Blanchard, a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, had been an instrument man on a land surveying crew.
