Church Point, LA:    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mr. John Frederick "Fred" Benoit, 68, who passed away at 8:18 PM Thursday, January 4 at his residence. Byrne Winn, Deacon of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services and the burial rite immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35.

John "Fred", a life-long resident of Church Point, was the son of Freddie Benoit and the former Lucille Hanks. He loved fishing in his pond, cooking with friends and cutting his grass-often times ending up bogged in the mud. Mr. Benoit was a family man who loved his wife, his boys, his grandchildren and his animals, especially his late dog, "Emitt".

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam M. Benoit; two sons, Cainan Benoit of Lafayette, LA and Trevor Benoit of Church Point; two grandchildren, Aiden Benoit and Madalie Bertrand; his brothers, Dwayne "PaJoe" Benoit and wife Pam of Church Point and Gene Benoit and wife Debbie of Mire, LA and his sisters: Elaine Latiolais and husband John Dale and Cindy Housley and husband Duane-all of Church Point, Diann Doucet of Eunice, LA and Lisa Thibodeaux and husband Frank of Crowley, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roger Dale Benoit and Randy "Perch" Benoit; his nephew, Michael Benoit; his niece, Tessie Doucet and a brother-in-law, Lubert Doucet.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.
