Church Point, LA:     Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mr. Joey Anthony Vidrine, 50, who passed away at 2:24  AM Saturday, February 12 at Ochsner University Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Ralph Manecke, Pastor of Christ Gospel Church, will conduct the memorial services.

Joey is survived by his trusted companion and pet, Buddy, AKA "Sir Budwick"; his mother, Linda Vidrine of Lafayette; his brother, Danny Vidrine and partner Laura Bearb (AKA "Sis" to Joey) of Church Point and numerous aunts, uncles and friends who became his family over the years. Joey is preceded in death by his father, Jessie P. Vidrine; his maternal grandparents, Mabel and Curley Dies and his paternal grandparents, James Vidrine and Leola Bellard.

Born on January 27, 1972, Joey was raised in Church Point and was an avid sports fan. He played basketball in high school, college and for a Colombian team as well as touring with the Globetrotters. Joey loved all things LSU and Saints and was a huge fan of both. His larger than life personality and presence was what everyone loved about him. He was a gentle giant with a huge heart. His favorite saying was "I throw no stones...", and he never did. He will be truly missed.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes be given in the form of donations to help with funeral expenses.
