Joan, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed into eternal life at 10:20 AM, Friday, August 3, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a battle with cancer. Joan was a long-time employee of Acadia-St. Landry Hospital and a native and resident of Church Point. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 7 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point. Fr. Jefferson Deblanc will conduct the services
with entombment in the church mausoleum following.
Joan is survived by her husband of 35 years, Glen Winn of Church Point; three daughters: Tara Khanna & husband Alok of Houston, Texas, Erica Hedrick & husband Daniel of Zachary, La., and April Hendricks & husband Adam of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren, Emily Hedrick, Aidan & Gavin Hendricks and Priya Khanna; four sisters, Susan White & husband Red of Houston, Texas, Linda D'Amores & husband Barry of Brusly, La., Carla Lyons & husband Roland of Omaha, Nebraska and Kay Morgan & husband Paul of Broussard, La.; four brothers, Mark Guidry of Virginia, Hugh Guidry & wife Debbie of Opelousas, La., Jeff Guidry & wife Beverly of Gonzales, La. and Mitch Guidry & wife Denise of Sacramento, California; 31 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Lora Lee Guidry and three nephews: Martin D'Amores, Chad Pellerin and Charles
Kevin Pellerin. Visitation will be from3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Sunday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 P.M. Monday and continue at 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited by Fr. Jefferson Deblanc at 7:00 PM Sunday and by Deacon Bryne Winn at 7:00 P.M. Monday. The family requests donations to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
