Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Jessie Paul Vidrine, 64. Mr. Vidrine, a native and long-time resident of rural St. Landry Parish near Opelousas, La., died at 8:50 P.M. Saturday, March 1 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Pastor Steven McKay and Joshua Carrier will conduct the services with interment following in the Mount Calvary Cemetery on Highway 190 east of Eunice, La.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Mire Vidrine of Opelousas; two sons, Danny Vidrine of Lafayette and Joey Vidrine of Broussard, La.; a stepson, Devin Miller of Eunice; four brothers: Autry Vidrine, Velton Vidrine and wife Delores and Leland Vidrine-all of Opelousas and Elrick "Ricky" Vidrine and wife Patricia of Gonzales, La. and two sisters, Anna Lee Cormier and Anna Pearl Leger and husband Wilbert-all of Opelousas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leola Vasseur Vidrine.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 4 and continue from 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services.
Mr. Vidrine loved to cook, to hunt and fish and to do "garden work". He especially loved his tractors.
