Jessie Richard, 93
Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Jessie Richard, 93. Mr. Richard, a native and long-time resident of rural St. Landry Parish near Church Point, died at 5:55 A.M. Monday, June 6, 2011 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Bellevue Memorial Cemetery south of Opelousas, La.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou (Richard) Richard of Church Point; a son, Bobby G. Richard and wife Norma (Miller) Richard of Sunset, La.; two daughters, Jeanette R. Boudreaux and husband Hubert of Opelousas and Dianne (Richard) Miller of Sunset; three brothers: Stephen Richard of Carencro, La., Joe Richard of Sunset and Roy Richard of Franklinton, La.; three sisters: Lilly Richard, Lou Ella Lucas and Eldene Burleigh-all of Carencro; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Ada (Venable) Richard; a brother, four sisters and a son-in-law, Ronald Miller.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 7 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Randy Richard, Michael and Dennis Boudreaux, Joey and Brian Miller and Blaine Boudreaux.

Mr. Richard, a member of the St. Landry Parish Farm Bureau, owned and operated "Jessie Richard General Merchandise" for over fifty years.
