Church Point, LA: A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Jerry Broadway, 85, who passed away at 8:19 PM Thursday, August 27, 2026, at The Calcutta House in Lafayette.

Jerry was the son of the late Frank Broadway and the former Lucy Cole. He was a man who truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and sharing his love of cooking with family and friends. He proudly served his country in both the United States Army and United States Air Force before retiring from military service. He was also a proud Shriner and Mason, organizations through which he enjoyed fellowship and serving others. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was the time he spent with those he loved.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne M. Broadway of Church Point, LA; his two sons, Shane B. Broadway and wife Sarah of Lake Charles, LA and Eric J. Broadway and wife Patty of Paxton, FL; five grandchildren, Isabel, Dristen and Clinten Broadway and Dawson and Kason Nelson and one great granddaughter, Beckett Broadway. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step father, "Paw" Howard Matthews.
