Jennifer
Richard
May 23, 1961 – December 18, 2025
Church Point, LA: A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Ms. Jennifer Richard, 64, who passed away at 11:05 AM Thursday, December 18 at her residence. Reverend David Rousse, Senior Associate Pastor of Faith Cathedral World Outreach of New Iberia, will conduct the Service. Burial will follow in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mausoleum in Mire, LA.
Jennifer was the daughter of the late Mr. Offord Richard and the former Anna Thibodeaux. Affectionately known as Jenny, Momma, Maw Bean, and Ja Jen; she wore many hats and was loved by many. She had a great passion for cooking and found joy in seeing the smiling faces of those who indulged in her wonderful meals. Jenny had a love for people and never met someone who didn't quickly become a friend. She was kind and compassionate to everyone around her. Known lovingly as Maw Bean, Jenny cherished her grandchildren more than anything. She was incredibly proud of her eldest grandson and excited to see what the future would hold for her two youngest grandsons. Jenny was a fighter and bravely fought her journey to the very end. Her heart was simply too big, and unfortunately, it gave out. We have no doubt she was welcomed into heaven with open arms, now dancing on streets of gold and casting out her fishing pole.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."—Psalm 147:3
She is survived by two daughters, Joni Romero and husband Ivy of New Iberia, LA and Amee Broussard and husband Jacob of Carencro, LA; one son, Jake Picard of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Ilijah Romero, Oliver Broussard and Ethan Broussard and her three sisters, Jackie Fruge of Branch, LA, Cheryl Roy of Cypress, TX and Tammy Istre of Cankton, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sandra Lejeune.
