Church Point, LA:      Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Jean "Cissy" Onebane-Richard, 54, who passed away on Friday, September 27 at her residence. A celebration of her life will follow at her home; 1624 Peach Bloom Hwy, Church Point, LA 70525.

A resident of Church Point, she was the daughter of Mr. Gene Lejeune and the former Elaine Johnson Lejeune. Jean "Cissy" Marie Onebane-Richard, A country girl born and raised, effortlessly beautiful. A daughter, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a companion, a friend. She found comfort in her love for her family, friends and fur babies in all shapes and sizes. She enjoyed capturing God's creations: the sunsets, the storms and seeking images in the clouds. She spent the best years of her life by a pond with her best friend, a white lab, "GG". Singing and feeding the turtles and ducks. Fishing by day and frogging by night, working on airplanes with her "oak tree"- dad, and fostering dogs until they found their forever homes. All of these things and more, gave her purpose. She was a Jill of all trades. There wasn't anything that she couldn't do. She was once a world traveling aesthetician, an antique collector and entrepreneur. She left an impression on anyone that she met. She would give the shirt off her back or spend her last dime to help anyone in need. Cissy put everyone first, she knew no stranger. To know her was to love her, but she was especially loved by her three daughters, her granddaughter, and her grandson. She was beyond proud of her family. She will be missed tremendously. As she always said: "God's speed, God's will"

She is survived by her parents, Gene and Elaine J. Lejeune of Crowley, LA; three daughters, Kaitlin Thibodeaux and husband Skeat of Church Point, Victoria Onebane of Baton Rouge, LA and Logan Onebane of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren, Ellie and Jameson Thibodeaux; one brother, Michael Lejeune, Sr. and her companion, Troy Richard of Church Point. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Lejeune.
