Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Jude Daniel "J.D." Johnson, 73. Mr. Johnson, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Friday night, October 27 at his residence. Pastor Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc and con-celebrants Father Steven Ugwu and Pere David Rozas will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Survivors include his spouse, Cecile Leblanc Johnson of Church Point; a son, Jon Johnson and wife Katie of Richard, LA; two daughters, Suzanne Neuharth and husband Scott of Lewisburg, LA and Candace Wilson and husband Christopher of Lafayette, LA; two brothers, Ronald Johnson and wife Mercedes of Church Point and Pat Johnson and wife Patsy of Humble, TX; a sister, Bernita Bergeron of Church Point; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Adaze Daugereaux Johnson; two sisters and a brother. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 29 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Sunday by Monsignor DeBlanc. Mr. Johnson was truly loved by family, friends and teammates. A retired member of the Louisiana State Police Association, he will be honored with an Honor Guard ceremony at the time of services.
