Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the St. John Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Janelle Ann Doucet, 71. Ms. Doucet, a native of Lewisburg and resident of Church Point, LA, passed away surrounded by family Monday evening, May 9 at The Landmark Nursing Home in Rayne, LA. Rev. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and interment will be in the cemetery adjacent to the chapel.

She is survived by her sons, James "Nick" Doucet and wife Laci of Lawtell, LA and John Domingue and wife Tracie of Coteau, LA; her daughters, Mia Doucet of Lafayette, LA and Mary Meaux and husband Matthew Longino of Breaux Bridge, LA; a brother, Rogers Doucet and wife Betty of Church Point; her grandchildren: Emma, Carly, Mason and Ava Doucet; a sister-in-law, Burnella Doucet of Carencro, LA; a brother-in-law, Ferdie Latiolais of Church Point and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her significant other, Claude "Cowboy" Meaux; her parents, Edwin and Arminia Bourque Doucet and her siblings: Milton and wife Barbara Nell, Kermit and wife Bertha, Roy and wife Evelyn and Albon Doucet; Bernella Thibodeaux and husband Leander, Charlene Daspit and husband Larry and Yvonne Latiolais.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11 and continue from 8:00 AM Thursday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Wednesday by Deacon Byrne Winn. A beloved mother and grandmother who was employed for 23 years at Garan Manufacturing, Ms. Doucet loved volunteering at "Cajun Woodstock", playing cards and completing "Word Search" puzzles, going to the "beauty shop" and drinking coffee with her life-long friend, Fabiola Lantier. She will be missed. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
