Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, La. for Janell Bourgeois, 78, the former Janell Margaret Daigle. Mrs. Bourgeois, a native of Church Point and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Branch, La., died Tuesday morning, January 5 at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, La. Father Garrett Savoie will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church. Readers will be Kadi Bourgeois and Celeste Barry Boudreaux.

Survivors include two sons, John Dale Bourgeois of Branch and Jonathan Bourgeois and wife Linda of Eunice, La.; two daughters, Gemma Osgood and husband John of Plano Tex. and Julie Bourgeois of Richard; two brothers, Jimmy Daigle and Mickey Daigle and wife Beatrice-all of Richard; three sisters: Dale Francois and husband Herman of Eunice and Louetta Labbie and Donna Barry and husband Tommy-all of Richard; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bourgeois and her parents, Raymond and Esther Higginbotham Daigle.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 7 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Thursday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
