Lejeune
October 13, 1938 – September 20, 2021
Church Point, LA: Jane Comeaux Lejeune, daughter of the late Leonce and Leola T. Comeaux, was born October 13, 1938, in Church Point LA. A graduate of Church Point High School, she furthered her education by studying to become a Notary Public and a Tax Preparer. She married Clifton (Flap) Lejeune in 1961, went on to raise five children and retired at the early age of 80 from Targil in Opelousas. While at Targil, she had many jobs. From the early days of the business, she worked with her sister and brother-in-law; loading trucks, billing, checking tickets and, later under new ownership, worked closely with the manager, her son Todd. An excellent cook, her famous Carrot Cake raised lots of money for the Church Point Volunteer Fire Department and the St. Edmund Church in Branch. She enjoyed going to the Casino with her friends, playing cards with her family (and was often accused of cheating), loved Cajun music and she loved to dance. A loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, she always put her family at the forefront of her life. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Patrick Soileau; a son, Todd Lejeune and wife Marme of Carencro; her daughters: Dina Guardia and husband Charles and Jodi Armstrong and husband Douglas-all of Carencro, Sally Lejeune and husband Patrick Smith of Lake Charles and Lisa Bergeron and husband Daniel of Church Point; her grandchildren: Jeffery, Jeremy, Chuck and Greg Guardia; Jasper Lejeune, Joshua Smith, Mendy Tupper, Tyler and Heather Bergeron, Gavin Armstrong, Cole Lejeune, and Caney Fontenot and her great-grandchildren: Brian, Lauren, Oliver, Maxwell and Samuel Guardia; Haylee and Taylor Holden, Macie lguess, Charlee Jo Tupper and Oliver Fontenot. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonce and Leola T. Comeaux; all her brothers and sisters and her husband of 49 years, Clifton Lejeune. Père David Rozas will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 25 in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on HWY 35. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited by Deacon Paul Matte at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume from 8:00 AM Saturday until the time of services. Pallbearers will be Todd and Jasper Lejeune, Daniel and Tyler Bergeron and Douglas and Gavin Armstrong. The family would like to offer their warmest thanks to her Caregivers: "We couldn't have done it without your help". Jane Comeaux Lejeune will be missed by many and loved by all who knew her.
