Church Point, LA:         A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 21, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA for James Rodney Richard, Sr., 77. Mr. Richard, a native and resident of Richard, LA, passed away Wednesday, August 11 at his residence. Reverend Korey Lavergne, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and disposition will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to addiesangels.com

He is survived by two sons, James Rodney Richard, Jr. and wife Amanda of Franklinton, LA and Todd Michael Richard of Westwego, LA; a stepdaughter, Amanda Treadway and husband Kurt of Richard, LA; four sisters: Lois Pelas of Church Point, Beatrice Frelich and husband Vincent of Jesuit Bend, LA; Patricia Boudreaux and husband Carroll of Covington, LA and Elizabeth Twiner and husband Joseph "JoeJoe" Twiner of Houma, LA; a sister-in-law, Patsy Richard of Utah; four grandchildren: Kaylin Sonnier and Ashlyne, Alayna and Anney Richard; three great-grandchildren: Hunter and Jaylin Sonnier and Kason Cognevich; two step-grandchildren, Brennan and Caden Treadway and numerous nieces and nephews, especially a great-nephew, Bryce "Tractor" Passman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Iris Mire Richard; his wife, Hien "Ann" Miles-Richard; two sisters, Audrey Quibodeaux and Anna Mae Lavergne and a brother, Albert Richard.

Mr. Richard, the owner of an oilfield wireline service for a number of years, was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
