Church Point, LA:                A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mr. James Ronald Plaisance, 74, who passed away at 8:00 PM Thursday, August 9 .
Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35.
James, a resident of Maurice, LA, was the son of the late James Roy Plaisance and the former Laura Shelley. He loved hunting, was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and an amazing individual.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tammy L. Plaisance of Maurice; one daughter, Laura Kalynn Plaisance of Maurice; one son, James Landry Plaisance and his wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren, Kate, Laney, Ryan and Thomas Plaisance all of Baton Rouge, LA; his in-laws, Burney and Judy Young of Church Point; his sister in law, Melissa Guidry and her husband Robert of Iota, LA; and his Godchild, Zachary Templet of Church Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Sunday, August 12 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM in the funeral home prior to leaving for church.
