Church Point, LA:      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mr. James Malcolm "Mac" Thibodeaux, 72, who passed away at 9:15 AM Saturday, September 21 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Pere David Rozas, Associate Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass.Burial will take place in the Msgr. C.A.  Bienvenu Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
James, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Gustave Thibodeaux and the former Theresa Bourgeois. He was known as 'Mac' to everyone. Malcolm was a quiet man with a lot of wit. He will always be remembered by his funny one-liners and enjoying his time cooking with "Cajun" music on the radio.
He is survived by two daughters, Dana Ann Thibodeaux of Church Point and Kyra Celeste Thibodeaux and companion Seth Louviere of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Jordan James Richard and wife Lauren, Cassidy Aidan Richard and Aubrey Marie Louviere; two great grandchildren, Lilah Richard and Blakely Richard and four sisters, Delores Fontenot and husband Robert, Betty Jo Jenking and husband Chris, Loma Mire and husband Wilbert and Debra Langlinais and husband Joey. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida Bourque Thibodeaux; one sister, Paula Navell Thibodeaux Bourque and one brother, Donald Wayne "Chopper" Thibodeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, September 23 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM on Monday prior to leaving for church.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Richard, Seth Louviere, Joseph Langlinais, Wilbert Mire, Jeremy Daigle and Landon Lavergne. Readers will be Nicky Daigle and Kenadee Lavergne. Gift bearers will be Loma Mire, Delores Fontenot and Debra Langlinais. Musicians will be Sarah O'Pry and Tanner Fontenot. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home and Hospice of Acadiana for their wonderful care. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N.
