Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 16, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for James Aubrey Latiolais, 77. Mr. Latiolais, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday morning, October 14 at his residence. Pere David Rozas will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Elkins Latiolais of Church Point; two sons, Kevin Latiolais and wife Kim of Church Point and Corey Latiolais and wife Charassie of Wichita Falls, TX; a daughter, Tiffany Latiolais of Rayne, LA; a brother, Donald Latiolais and wife Violet of Church Point; seven grandchildren: Kayla, Heidi, Kody and Kelli Latiolais, Kristen Mock and husband Daniel, Ashley Taylor and husband Ryan and Kameron Vincent and eight great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Aubrie, and Ayden Taylor, Kolden and Leo Latiolais and Ashlyn, Emma and Bentley Olivier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Claudia Venable Latiolais. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 15 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Sunday by Pere Rozas. Loved by family and friends, Mr. Latiolais operated a retail auto parts business for a number of years. A U.S. Navy veteran, he will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
