Church Point, LA A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 17, 2020 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA for Mr. James "Kelly" Hebert, 76, who passed away at 7:40 AM Friday, August 14 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point, LA. Rev. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in St. Edward Cemetery next to the church.
Kelly, a resident of Richard, was the son of the late Adam Hebert and the former Wilda Daigle. Raised by his maternal grandparents, Noah and Blanche Daigle, after the death of his mother when he was only five years of age; he retired from Coca-Cola Bottling of Lafayette as a service technician after 37 years of dedicated employment. In his spare time, he was the bass player for the band "Cajun Gold" and a fill-in bass player for any band that needed his talents. Mr. Hebert loved cooking, hunting ducks and his two dogs, Max and Rocky. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lucille Babineaux Hebert of Richard; one stepdaughter, Cindy Brickey of Scott, LA; two stepsons, Robert "Poncho" Hebert and wife Patsy of Eunice, LA and Ruben "Benny" Hebert of Eunice; four grandchildren: Brandi, Josh, Andrea and Logan and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Steve and Randy Hebert. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Sunday, August 16 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of funeral services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:00 PM. Personal condolences may be sent to the Hebert family at
