Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 7, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mrs. James (Agnes) Daigle, 82, the former Agnes Daigle. Mrs. Daigle, a native of and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 9:55 A.M. Tuesday, May 4 at Lafayette General Medical Center; Lafayette, La. Father Gregory Chauvin will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery; Lewisburg, La.
Survivors include Scott Daigle and wife Lorraine of Baton Rouge, La.; six daughters: Nadine Taylor and husband Van of Rayville, La., Paula Johnson and husband Don of Church Point, Monessa Douet and Judy Dugas and husband David K. Dugas-all of Lafayette and Julie Marcantel and Ginger Dupre of Opelousas, La.; a brother, Moise Daigle, Jr. and a sister, Rosa Belle Faul of Church Point; eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Daigle; a son, James Rowdy "Little Jim" Daigle and her parents, Moise, Sr. and Dora O'Pry Daigle.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 6 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday by Father Chauvin.
Pallbearers will be Ryan, Chris and Eric Dugas, Jordy Marcantel, Don Paul Johnson and Scott Daigle. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott-Michael, Jacob and Blake Richardson.
Well-known in the Church Point-Lewisburg area, Mrs. Daigle was employed by Church Point Wholesale for many years and was a member of the St. John Ladies Altar Society. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she came to be loved and respected by all who knew her.
