Church Point, LA:   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2025 at Our Lady of The Sacred Heart Church in Church Point, LA  for Mr. James W. Bourgeois, 74, who passed away at 9:29 PM Thursday, February 27, at his residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass with Entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

James, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Gabriel Bourgeois and the former Drusella LeBleu. He loved playing golf and woodcock hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth L. Bourgeois of Church Point; a daughter, Celine Foreman and husband Gavin of Ritchie, LA; five sons: John Bush of Branch, LA, Gabriel Bourgeois and wife Courtney of Eunice, LA, Nathan and Louis Bourgeois of Church Point and Hans Bourgeois and wife Carley of Katy, TX; seven grandchildren: Mason Bush, Ana John, William Foreman, Anne Marie Bourgeois, Graham Foreman, Leo Bourgeois and Owen Foreman; five sisters: Gabriella Miller, Judy Thibodeaux, Gwendolyn Leger and Estelle Wimberley of Church Point and Gerry Daigle of Baton Rouge, LA and three brothers, Anthony Bourgeois of Church Point, Michael Bourgeois of Norwood, LA and his twin brother, Walter Bourgeois of Denham Springs, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Louella Matte and Madeline Duncan and his brothers, John Dale Bourgeois and Larry Bourgeois.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, March 3, from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass. Pallbearers will be his sons and son-in-law.
