Mrs. J. Harold (Clara) Richard's Obituary
Church Point, La. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mrs. J. Harold (Clara) Richard, 81. Mrs. Richard, the former Clara Jeanne McBride, died at 6:55 A.M. Friday, September 3 at New Iberia Manor North; New Iberia, La. She was a native and life-long resident of Church Point. Father Brad Guillory will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.
Survivors include three daughters: Nickie R. Rodriquez and husband Cliff of New Iberia, La., Stephanie R. Boone and husband Kelly of Richard, La. and Yvette R. Olivier and husband Toby of Church Point; two brothers, Paul Victor McBride, Jr. and wife Marguerite of Theodore, Alabama and Robert "Bob" McBride and wife Dean of Church Point; a son-in-law, Ronnie Doucet of Church Point; fifteen grandchildren: Melanie, Melissa and Nick Rodriguez, Amanda Palmer, Tracey Freyou, Seri Boone and Kelly Boone, Jr., Christie Dailey, Karen Matte, Julee Reed, Richie Olivier, Monique Castille, Toni Leger, Stacey Doucet and Ronnie Doucet, Jr.; sixty-seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harold Richard; an adult daughter, Paula "Jo" R. Doucet; three infant children; a grandson, Todd Olivier; her parents, Paul V. "Joe" and Lucille Guidry McBride; a little sister, Henrietta McBride and her mother and father-in-law, Emar and Amynthe Guidry Richard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 A.M. Sunday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Cliff and Kent Rodriguez, Kelly Boone, Sr. and Kelly Boone, Jr., Ronnie Doucet, Sr. and Ronnie Doucet, Jr., Toby and Richie Olivier.
Mrs. Richard was a member of American Legion Post 225 and VFW Post 9903 of Church Point for some fifty years. She was a valued and loyal employee of Guidry Funeral Home, Inc., serving as office manager for over 40 years.
