Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Church Point Pentecostal Church in Church Point, La. for Irvin James Carrier, 71. Mr. Carrier, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died Tuesday morning, May 22 at his residence. Pastor Ricky Pavlu will conduct the services with interment following in the First Baptist Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his parents, Phillip and Minnie (Doucet) Carrier of Church Point; his wife, Gloria (Clavier) Carrier of Church Point; two sons, Brian Carrier and wife Jennifer of Church Point and Kevin Carrier and wife Jennifer of Lafayette, La.; a daughter, Paula Johnson and husband Phillip of Scott, La.; three brothers: Ronald Carrier and wife Patty, Lerlin Carrier and wife Dianne and Keith Carrier and wife Becky-all of Church Point; a sister, Joyce Joubert and husband Kenneth of Church Point; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 23 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services.

Employed in the oilfield industry and with the Acadia Parish School Board for many years before retirement, Mr. Carrier enjoyed gardening and maintaining his home and property. He read his Bible religiously.
