March 17, 1988 – November 19, 2022
Church Point, LA: Holden Lee Hare, 34, passed away at 5:58 AM, Saturday, November 19th at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Holden, a life-long resident of Church Point, LA, graduated from Church Point High School in 2007 and continued his passionate support of Church Point Bears Football until the time of his passing. He also loved Star Wars, gaming, and wrestling, but most of all, he loved serving at Point Church, where he ran lights and media. He loved spending time with his wife and kids, and was excited about his upcoming first grandbaby, who would have called him "Paw".
Holden had been a reserve officer with the Church Point Police Department since 2018, where he served alongside his son, Hunter. In 2021, he was awarded Reserve Officer of the Year for his commitment and dedication to the department and local community. In May of 2022, Holden decided to fulfill his dream career by becoming a full-time police officer at the Church Point Police Department, where he served as a patrolman until the time of his passing. Holden will be remembered by those he touched for his warm, caring, and generous personality, and the quiet, humble, and fun way he approached life. Holden is survived by his loving wife, Wendy K. Hare; son, Hunter Hare; daughter, Hailey Hare; mother, Veronica Comeaux; grandparents, Helen and Hilton Comeaux and three brothers, Chris and Brandon Guidry and Spencer Hebert. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Guidry; his paternal grandparents, Emma and "Doc" Guidry, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Stoney Loup. A Viewing will be held at Point Church, 800 South Main Street, Church Point on Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 8AM until 8PM and continue on Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 9AM until the time of the funeral service at 2PM. The service will be officiated by Lead Pastor Jared Pavlu. Pallbearers will be Wilton Harmon, Hunter Hare, Mark Regan, Brodie Doucet, Richard Roberts, and Logan Campbell. The family would like to thank Chief Dale Thibodeaux and the Church Point Police Department for all they have done to ensure that Holden was brought home by his fellow officers in heroic fashion. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
