Church Point, LA:   A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Hilda B. Richard, 100, the former Hilda Brasseaux. Mrs. Richard, a native and resident of Church Point, died Sunday evening, March 29 at Acadia-St. Landry Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31and continue from 8:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, and Stephen Melancon. Entombment will be in the OLSH Mausoleum on Hwy 35. Pallbearers will be Tommy, Trevor and Tyler Carriere, Clay and Braylin Johnson, Landon Johnsey and Keith Leger.

Survivors include her grandchildren: Scott LaFleur and wife Brandi and Tammy Carriere and husband Tommy of Church Point and Clay Johnson and wife Tiffany of Sunset, LA; her great-grandchildren: Trevor Carriere and wife Charlene, Tori Carriere and husband TJ Dalman, Tyler Carriere, Taylor Johnsey and husband Landon, Matthew LaFleur, Braylin Johnson, Kade Campbell, Tyler and Carter Taylor and Gabrielle Werner; her great-great-grandchildren: Bellamy Ann and Meredith Rose Carriere, Josephine Ann Dalman, Archer Keith and Alice Catherine Johnsey and Oaklynn Rose McGee and her Godchildren, Patricia Esquivel and Keith Leger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Fevroneé Leger Brasseaux; her husband, Melvin Richard and her daughters, Linda Lafleur and Robinetta Johnson.

Mrs. Richard was a hard-working, devout and loving wife and devoted grandparent. Truly loved, she will be missed by her extended family and all who knew her.
