Church Point, La. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Hilda Babineaux, 91, who passed away at 11:55 AM on Sunday, December 6 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point.
Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services with entombment following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
Mrs. Hilda, a native of Grand Coteau, LA and currently a resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Regis Landry and the former Eva Melancon. She is survived by three sons, Jay Noel and wife Leanne of Mamou, LA; Jimmy Noel and wife Sue of Moss Bluff, LA and Javis Noel and wife Elaine of Church Point; one stepdaughter, Glenda Sonnier and companion Ray of Scott, LA; two stepsons, Dale Babineaux and wife Liz of Church Point and Jackie Babineaux of Lafayette, LA; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mavis Quebedeaux of Opelousas, LA and one brother, Joseph Lee Landry of Sunset, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elie Noel; her second husband, Early Babineaux; one stepdaughter, Becky Dartez; one stepson, Timmy Babineaux; four sisters: Celine Benoit, Eta Benoit, Emma Soileau and Sable Marks and one brother, Adolph Landry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, December 7 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Monday evening at 7:00 pm.
Mrs. Hilda was a cafeteria worker in the St. Landry Parish School System for some twenty-five years.
