Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Herman Darbonne, Sr., 79, who died at 7:50 P.M. Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at his residence in Church Point. He was born in Swords, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Catholic Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include four sons: Timmy Darbonne and wife Carol of St. Martinville, La. and Herman "Nooky" Darbonne, Jr. and wife Jo Anne, Larry Darbonne and wife Kathy and Barry Darbonne and wife Angie- all of Church Point; a daughter, Debra Latiolais and husband Todd of Church Point; a sister, Elta Jane Lavergne of Church Point; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Azelie Wimberley Darbonne; his parents, August and Aurelia Darbonne; three brothers and two sisters.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 11 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Thursday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

Mr. Darbonne was retired, having served 32 years with the Louisiana Department of Highways.
